Thank you Josey.
Indeed it wasn't easy because of the different spellings of the surname , even in France.
As you can see on the documents  Leon signs CHEVROT but the public officer writes CHEVREAUX (absolutely same sounding though) .And the forename is written either George or Georges (most often it is Georges in France).
If Valeriet comes back I can go further searching the ancestors.
Now I am searching Georges's military file. Not an easy search because you find this in the "recruitement bureau" where a boy lived when he was 20.And I don't know where he was living in 1890, and moreover , the military files aren't on line in all the departements)
If he was still in France I guess he was living in one of the departements around Orne or Eure , or Paris .

FOUND him , Alençon Bureau de recrutement nb 878

Just in case your GG Chevreau was the husband of Hendrika SCHOOF , here is his death act  (21 august 1930 Paris 8th arrondissement) and by the way his date and place of birth in France .
This could explain why his death cannot be found in England.

I just received the marriage certificate today and I can confirm that it was my great grandfather George Chevreau who married Hendrika Schoof!

When I came back to this page I wasn't prepared to find all of this Joger. I'm amazed and can't thank you enough! I'm going to print it off and take it all in. I'm so happy. Thank you!!!  ;D ;D

I know a little French but not much. Was going to put some of it into Google translate. Do you speak French?
