Help with transcription / WW1 medical report

Hoping someone can help please with the attached medical report on Private 4859 William Alfred Tyrell, HAC.

Tyrell was admitted to Netley Hospital and the report says: "At 6:30 with no previous warning, he suddenly collapsed, the cause of death being A. mania complicated by ?? and exhaustion. 

Can anyone help with the ??

Archaic term for any of the forms of mental illness, or dementia.

Thankyou,here is my best effort.
Admitted to this division in a condition of acute mania of a fortnights duration.
He was in a state of acute ( confusingly veracity?)throughout.Violent and
( resistive?) Very aggressive with much trouble with food and sleeplessness.
A ———- systolic——— was discovered but not considered to materially prejudice his condition.
At 6-35 am with no previous warninghe suddenly collapsed.
The cause of death being evidently Acute mania complicated byVD H or VO H
and exhaustion.
