Tugby PR Check
« on: Saturday 02 February 19 13:37 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Is anyone here able to double check the dates/page references of some christenings in Tugby for me? For some reason the following christenings appear twice on FindMyPast with the same date, but with different page numbers shown on  the reference given.

John Allen son of Richard Allen was christened on 24 June 1602.

This record appears twice on FindMyPast with the following two references:

DE1118/2 page 6 and DE1118/2 page 10

I'm assuming one of those is a transcription error but which?

Interestingly FindMyPast shows another John Allen [also son of Richard] christened on 7 August 1632 but also with the reference DE1118/2 page 6. Could this be a duplicate or has there been an error on FindMyPast?

The is also a christening for Robert Allen son of Richard Allen on 2 February 1604 which is also shown on FindMyPast twice. This is shown with the following references:

DE1118/2 page 6 and DE1118/2 page 11

Again I'm assuming only one is correct or that there are two different christening dates and that the date has been duplicated.

Can anyone help?

Many Thanks
Matt

Possible reason - one entry is the parish register and one the BT.  :-\
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!
