marriage and death records in Quebec
« on: Sunday 03 February 19 16:42 GMT (UK) »
A friend has asked if I can find the records for a marriage in 1939 and a death in 1970 in Quebec. Could someone tell me if these records are available to the public and if so how would I obtain copies ?

Sadly there are no Central registries/indexes in Canada for BMDs.  Canada has very strict privacy laws and each province imposes its own even further.  Additionally, some provinces are more research friendly than others so researching in Canada can be challenging.

Sometimes it is possible to find something from newspapers etc.,  If you would like to give some details we can have a look around.

Hi Sandra
I am looking for any details, parents names if possible, for Duncan Reginald McRae. He married Evelyn Ross 24.08.1939. Died 24.06 1970. The marriage was in Quebec, maybe Hope Town but not 100% sure his death was in the same place. The McRae spelling could be different.
Thanks
Ginger
