The Millers
« on: Monday 04 February 19 14:47 GMT (UK) »

My 4x great-grandparents, Henry and Elizabeth Miller, were Germans. Here’s what I know:

They married in Spittlegate, Lincolnshire, in 1848. Henry’s father was John, a bricklayer, and Elizabeth’s was Francis White. Francis was a carpenter.

Henry was born in around 1828, in Prussia. Elizabeth was born in around 1821, just in Germany.

Both surnames (Miller and White) were probably anglicised. The German surnames appear to be Müller/Mueller or Weiss.

Both Henry and Elizabeth were musicians, although Henry later worked with horses.

John may have had a relative named Matthias, born c. 1831 (lived in Newark and was a musician too. He was the son of Frederick Miller (married in 1885) - also a bricklayer.

I’d appreciate any help!
