Ushers Quay, Dublin, Ireland
« on: Wednesday 06 February 19 15:33 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help advise please?

Looking to find out the connection between a Laurence Gray who died in Birmingham in 1938 informant was an S Howard of 13 Ushers Quay, Dublin.   Never used Irish records before so any advise or information would be very gratefully received.  If I can find details on this address/family might break down a very big brickwall.   :o

Hi annettej,

I have just looked up the residents of 14.5 Ushers Quay in 1911 Irish census and there are four Howards (none starting with S I'm afraid) living there and a boarder named Watson. I don't know if they are the same Howards but I suspect they are connected.

Elizabeth, 51, head of family, seamstress, needlewoman, born Kings County, widow.
James, 17, son, railway porter, born Dublin city
Henry, 14 messenger born Dublin city
Robert Walton, 29, general labourer, born Longford
Violet, granddaughter

All Church of Ireland.

Two very good sites for Dublin are Irish genealogy, ie, which has baptisms and later civil records and 1901/1911 census of Ireland from National Library of Ireland
