FAMILY NAMES - Berrigan, Oreilly, O'Reilly, O'Rahilly or Reilly
« on: Wednesday 06 February 19 16:58 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for a family with the above names.  Ellen Berrigan married James Reilly don't know a date but I think they must have been born around 1880.  James went to Boston, USA and died there.  Their children were James, Thomas, Patrick, Maureen and Helen, again don't know dates but must have been born between 1910-1930 all born in Kilkenny, I think in Callan.

Any light appreciated.

Thanks hallmark.  I had seen some of these before but still can't find an Ellen Berrigan marrying James Riley!  Am I missing them somewhere?

I can’t trace any births either - where and when do you have any of these people?

I'm looking for these people for a friend.  Her grandmother was Ellen Berrigan, the only date I have is she died in Kilkenny around 1980 at the age of 90.  Grandfather James Reilly went to Boston and died there but as they had all those children it must have been after the war.

If it is her grandmother, she will know, I would imagine, the year of birth of her parent and perhaps some siblings. That would help.
I wonder if they married in USA?

They are not turning up in the censuses in Boston. I also searched using only the parents' names and got no results either. (Both searches at familysearch.org)

Did Ellen go to Boston with James and then return to Ireland after his death? So are the children in the US? Or did James run off and go to Boston on his own, leaving Ellen and the children in Ireland?
