You're very welcome. The icing on the cake might be if RunKitty can find the obituary for Alexander Bura - which might mention Joan/Florence

Sandra

Hi,

Obituary in the Toronto Star on 19 March 1999, page B6.   Alexander Bura died on 18 March 1999 at the Scarborough Centenary Hospital.  He was in his 84th year.  Husband of the late Joan.  Brother of Paul, Nicholas and Valentina.

There is no indication where he is buried.  Funeral was on March 20th from St Olave's Anglican Church, 360 Windermere Ave.  Cremation.

RK

Perhaps a long shot but the surname seems unusual and might be worth further investigation  - There is this Bura famiy in Toronto - perhaps we can find more to see if they were related to Alexander Bura born 1916 :-\

This would be the father - Nikita Bura 1896 Velykyi, Oleksyn, Ukraine  – passed away 1985 Toronto Ontario.
Might have been a brother Nicholas Bura born in Ukraine 1923.  Also a  Paul Bura born 1925 Ukraine.

There was a   U.S., Social Security Applications and Claims entry for Nikita Bura with a wife Olga Nowak  - child Paul Bura.

Sandra

Added - Divorced Oksana Kasanchuk in Ukraine. Married Olga Nowak. He did not marry Alex's mother. (according to anc tree)

The obituary for Nicholas Bura doesn't hep identify Alexander.

Anc public tree with photographs of the Bura family - the name Alex Bura is listed but no details on him. (PHOTOGRAPH of him)

It says Olga Bura also passed in Toronto 1989  ???
