Isabel Juggins c1722-28 ish
« on: Thursday 07 February 19 15:13 GMT (UK) »
Isabel Juggins(o.t.p), married John Wallington,(of Brill, Bucks), 26 Jul 1742, Oxford, St Mary Magdalen, Oxfordshire.

Is there a baptism in St Mary Mag. Ox to be found, around 1722/28 ish.

There is a marriage for Francis Juggins(of Forest Hill), to a Mary Mount/Munt, 1727 @ St Mary Mag, Ox. Possible parents.?

Or, Robert Juggins, to Mary Sheene, married 1726 @ St Thomas, Ox. (Both of Wheatley parish).

No baptisms in Forest Hill. nor Wheatley, for Isabel, under Juggins or Huggins.!

Thanks.

They were married by license as were most couples at St Mary's would the license give you any further information?

The Oxfordshire Archdeacon's Marriage Bond Index has the following entry:

'1742     Wallington, John     Brill, Bucks         Juggins, Elizth      Oxford'

https://www.whipple.org/oxford/marriagebonds.html

Isabel, as you probably know, is a variant of Elizabeth.

Hope this helps,

On second thoughts, this link is better for future reference as it includes Diocesan Bonds as well (and a bit of hearth tax!):  https://www.whipple.org/oxford/

The other two JUGGINS marriages you mentioned are also on the Archdeacon's list.

Thanks Carol. :)

Yes, I have the Whipple and the original marriage record.

Just wondering about her baptism.

Thanks.

Quite feasible Carol.  I'll look into it further.  Thanks very much.
