hi can someone help pleaese on prescibing on whos living at no 14 i think ancestry have it completly wrong

Could you give the census ref please?  It's a little small to work out the overlapping descenders.

thats what i think thank you  its just parents do u think that is hocken it looks nothing like axen i wasnt sure also i couldnt read johns profession

I didn't bother to see what Ancestry had put.

If they have AXEN, then they have probably read the H as a middle initial, and the ck as a capital A. There is some interference from the y of Payne in the line above, which may have led to the confusion. I'd be pretty confident about Hocken.

Returned a little late and agree with Bookbox: Hocken and Pengelly. Both Daniel and William, their sons, are more clearly  Hocken.
