The Dreaper Family
« on: Sunday 10 February 19 12:07 GMT (UK) »
Hello All! I am new to this, so just putting out some tentative queries to see what comes back.
I am part of the Dreaper family, I do know we originally moved from England to Ireland (though my own father moved back to England just to confuse things!).

Any clues/connections would be helpful/interesting.

Welcome to RootsChat! ;D

Some names and dates would be helpful ;D

The Ireland 1901 census has just 22 people named Dreaper.
Ireland 1911 census has 33 people by that surname.

census.nationalarchives.ie

In contrast, the 1911 England/Wales census shows 42 Dreapers.
1901 census has 67 people named Dreaper.

Thanks, that's a good beginning, I have already seen some names in the census from areas in Ireland that I have a few relatives, such as Abbeyleix so that will certainly give me a few avenues to look down.
