Age of a witness?
« on: Sunday 10 February 19 12:34 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

Would any one know if there was a minimum age requirement for a marriage witness in 1827 England?

After years of searching I've found a possible marriage for my people but it would mean the groom's 19 year old brother was a witness.

Thanks

There are no laws concerning the age of marriage witnesses - they need to be old enough to function properly as a witness that is all.
