Baldock, Strood, Kent

Hi,

Could anyone help me find the parents or siblings of a William Baldock born circa 1843 in Strood, Kent please?

I am wondering if the parents are William Baldock and Elizabeth Haynes who married 1837 in Frindsbury, Kent.

Do you have his marriage which should give his fathers name

There is this birth registration

Hi Rosie,

He married Fanny Burness Voysey in 1873 and then Louisa Benton in 1889. I can only find marriage indexes rather than parish records. I will purchase the certificate if there are no other avenues to try.

Hi there,

It is only my speculation that William Baldock (sir) and Elizabeth Haynes are William’s  (jnr  b 1843) parents because all the later census’ have his birth place as Strood, Kent and the birth in 1842 in North Aylesford with mother’s maiden name Haynes seemed to be the best fit due to location. Would you agree with this thought?

It is always easy to assume but I think many of us on here would advise that you should confirm his fathers name if you can.  It is so easy to end up following the wrong line.

I notice that Elizabeth came from Stepney on the marriage record and William born 1842 was a visitor in Stepney in 1851. His birth place is transcribed as Stroud (Strood) but Frinsdbury in 1861.

It seems probably that the marriage in 1832 is the correct one.
