1939 Register : missing record?
« on: Sunday 10 February 19 17:15 GMT (UK) »
I cannot find my mothers family on the 1939 Register.

Her father was in the RAF, so this may be a reason, but her grandmother, Eliza Harpin, is also missing and she would have been living with her husband Reginald Harpin in Bedfordshire at the time.  If the register was the basis for issuing ration cards, why are these people missing?

If she was born less that 100 years ago, she might have been blanked out (redacted).

If you are looking for Reginald & Eliza on F M P try 'Harpeir'

Ancestry have transcribed it correctly (that makes a change  ;D  )

Just for clarification:

Is Reginald Harpin, the gentleman who married Eliza Wellsted - 1924 in Biggleswade Registration District?

Maybe not - I can't see any children registered as Harpin with Wellsted as mother's maiden name  :-\
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

did you find them?  I can see Elizabeth and Reginald

Bedford RD DQDA p 3

The redacted is a bit hit and miss.  I have 2 living relatives in their 90s on there and the rest in their 90s redacted.

My mother was sent to Cornwall to relatives from London, so already missing from her parents listing along with her 2 sisters, one remaining at home.
