It's always best to list the County of the place you find people i.e. Lochgair is a village in Glassary, which is a Parish in the County of Argyll (which helps others willing to help).
It is also useful to provide a link to any previous threads on the same family, so that helpful people don't duplicate what others have already done.

LIVINGSTON DUNCAN & FRASER JESSIE 1869

What's the age of Jessie/Janet on her marriage & where does she state she was born on later census' with age on each of them for an average/likely yr?

Hi Iain

Good to hear that you are making headway following the data issues you had... :)

Just working through some censuses on the Fraser side as it looks likely that May and Jessie were certainly sisters:

Following the marriage of Jessie Fraser to Duncan Livingston that you now have, this looks to be their 1871 census entry, surname as transcribed:

Duncan Levingston 28 printer compositor b. Glasgow
Jessie Levingston 22 b. Tarbert Ross
Georgina Levingston 6 months https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQHZ-PHZ

Address: 293 High St, Glasgow Central

One generation back, this is Jessie's family I think in 1851:

William Fraser 55 labourer b. Inverness
Janet Fraser 44 b. Tarbat, Ross
Georgenia Fraser 14
Mary Fraser 11
David Fraser 8
William Fraser 6
Janet Fraser 3 b. Tarbat, Ross
Christenia Ross 69 pauper Mother b. Tarbat, Ross

Address: Goanies Cottage, Tarbat

All the children show as born Tarbat but from records, the eldest ones seem to have been born in Forres Moray:

Ann 1831 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X16L-ZR2
Elspet 1833 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X162-QVT
Georgina 1836 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X16J-XV3
May 1838 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X16L-W9G
David 1841 https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VQ73-JV5

Can't see an entry for Jessie c. 1848 from her 1851 entry.

The family in 1841 everyone showing as born outside of the county except for mother Janet:

William Fraser 40 farmer
Janet Fraser 30 b R&C
John Fraser 13
Christian Fraser 10
Eppy Fraser 8
Georgina Fraser 5
May Fraser 2

Address: Meikle Tarrel Tarbat

Ooops...I think Forfarian had already covered the early years of the Fraser Family in one post on the other thread here www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=806863.0

Yes, but I didn't provide the 1851 census details, only the 1841.

Also I don't think anyone has so far explained to Iain that Janet and Jessie are totally interchangeable - when you mislay a Jessie, look for a Janet, and vice versa.

You did indeed use both alternatives. I was just trying to clarify in case Iain didn't know they were in effect the same name.
