MyHeritage website question
« on: Monday 11 February 19 14:47 GMT (UK) »
Can I ask if anyone could assist with a MyHeritage request.  I have found a reference to a Henry "Hy" Jewell 1830-1886. It shows his parents were Bernard Jewell & Charlotte Jewell (born Levy) It says that Henry had the following siblings, Eleanor & Soloman + 10 more. Would anyone be able to assist with the other 10?

Either
Eleanor Jewell, Morris Jewell, Joel Jewell, Solomon Jewell, John Jewell, Joseph Jewell, Godfrey Jewell, Hannah Levy (born Jewell), Dinah (Diana) Jacobs (born Jewell)
or
Esther Jewell, Amelia Jewell, Catherine Hart (born Jewell), Solomon Henry Jewell, Mary Ann Kaskell (born Jewell), Charlotte Adelaide Brown (born Jewell), Michael Jewell, Leah Jefferys (born Jewell), Raphael Jewell

Both list Bernard as Barnard (Baruch) Jewell. It notes that they are Jewish and his father was born c1779 in Stepney
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

Does census info help? Brief summary below.

1841: Barnard 50; Charlotte 40; Dinah 20; John 12; Hy 11; Emma 10; Raphael 8; Jos 6; Godfrey 4; Hannah 3.

1851: Barnard 66; Charlotte 53; Eleanor 42 [sic]; Emma 19; Raphael 17; Godfrey 14; Hannah 12.

If the ages of Charlotte and Eleanor are correct, could it mean Barnard was married before Charlotte and had the other children by his first wife?

Many thanks greatly appreciated.I now seem to have some extra children so need double check. There definitely was a Reuben. Yes I think Bernard first wife was a Catherine who died 1824.
