I was just looking at that baptism and thought the priest may have put the mother on the line below as Ellen Egan ?

Do you know when he died? Do you have him on any censuses?

Sadly. marriages on novascotiagenealogy.com start in 1864!! Would have stated both parties parents.

ADDED: Is this them in 1871  RG10; Piece: 2129; Folio: 75; Page: 28; Stoke Damerel Barracks
Thomas Lappin   33 b Belfast sergeant
Ella Lappin   26 b Halifax NS
Wache H Lappin   7 b New London, Canada
Thomas Lappin   5 b Aldershot
James Lappin   2 b Ireland

Hi yes this is them.  there is another child Alfred Ernest born 1875 in India

https://registers.nli.ie/registers has the baptism 24 Fen 1839 at St Patrick's Belfast, mother Alice Mandile.

Also one 16 Mar 1834 son of Peter & Catherine.

Yes, so many spellings possible. :(

Hi
would it possible for the birth date to be so far out?  the 1871 census says abt 1838
