1674807, Somerset, England
« on: Wednesday 13 February 19 12:15 GMT (UK) »
This number represents a parish or village.
So uninformative,
1674807, Somerset, England.

But, being the supposed birthplace of the husband of a cousin in the 1700's, I can walk away.
What use is 1674807 to a direct descendant?

I've been trying to unravel the intermarriages of cousins and so I was reviewing trees on ancestry, and 1674807, Somerset, England, comes up for the chap.
Poor man, poor village, to be reduced so.

I wrote a whole paragraph of glib comment, and deleted culled before posting, lol

Rant over, no replies necessary,  ;D
Serves me right for staying up past my bedtime

no explanation sort, unless useful to young players, of course.

Salute,
Janelle

When I first started using Ancestry.com back in 2012, this was something I noticed in other people's trees, and I've seen it less and less since then. My assumption is that there was once a glitch in Ancestry's gazetteer, causing place names to be displayed as a code.
