You don't give a year of birth but there are a couple of burials which could be your man

John Ellis buried Wellington 28 December 1817 aged 58 (yob 1759)
John Ellis buried Wellington 17 December 1826 aged 68 (yob 1758)

Had trouble logging back in. So John would have been born around 1812 he would have married about 1832 think there are 2 records for the 1830s?

Sorry about that. I had no idea of his birth so had a quick look for the marriage and found a John Ellis marrying a Catherine Onions in 1786 and thought that was the right one. Unfortunately I cannot find anything for the 1830s.

Right getting my Johns mixed up! He did indeed marry Catherine Onions in 1786 and had a brother Thomas

Well that gives you a choice of two burials. I can find a John baptised Wellington 1754 parents John and Jane, with a brother Thomas baptised 1764. However there is also a John baptised Wellington 1764 with parents John and Susan and brother Thomas baptised 1766. Consequently impossible to pin down which John is the correct one.

Viewable on findmypast but the only other information given is that the John who died 1817 had the abode of Trench and the John in 1826 had the abode of Rock. Don't know if this helps.
