French text and unidentified uniform
« on: Thursday 14 February 19 19:42 GMT (UK) »
I was wondering if anybody with a knowledge of French might be able to read the following handwriting or have any idea what the uniform is worn by the young boy. The picture is of Robert. All three boys are wearing the same uniform in their individual portraits.

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Do you have an approximate date for the portrait?

Just making a start of this album and very new to researching French connections. However, I am guessing that the image comes from an album of CDV images dating between the 1870s and early 1900s. That type of era would certainly tie in with the family history.

It says they are in the uniform of the St Euverte boarding school ( "pensionnat")

St Euverte was and still is a catholic school, go and see that in Google.

The armband means he was doing his Solemn Communion

Many thanks, I did wonder if that might be the reason why the three boys all had portraits taken with white armbands.

Type "brassard communion solemnelle" in Google and see the images
