Deciphering words on a medal roll for Alexander BAIN

I wonder if anyone can explain the following - written in red pen against the name of Sgt Alexander BAIN on a 'ROLL OF INDIVIDUALS entitled to the Victory Medal and/or British War Medal granted under Army Orders 301 & 266' for the South Staffs Regiment. The form is dated 14 Jun 1921.

Retd. 1743 KR. (1912) C.R.V. 496/ B.df 20-9-23, 8115/Adt.

The note indicates that the medals were returned for adjustment/amendment (adt).  Often happened, incorrect number, mis-spelling of the name that sort of thing.  They would have been reissued.
