If all else fails, remember that you can get Word to adjust the case without retyping.

Select the text, then press shift-F3.

This cycles from "hello world" to "Hello World" to "HELLO WORLD".

Ooo, I like that!  Any more helpful hints, andrewalston?

Someone mentioned Ctrl Z, which  you can use straight after it's corrected something you didn't want correcting.  I use it in card games when I cheat! but it undos the last action without highlighting.

Have you tried...

If one name is formatted correctly, you can use Format Painter and apply it to ones you want to have same Format after you enter all the names.

There are loads of functions accessible directly from the keyboard, and despite the replacement of the sensible menus by a "ribbon" a few versions ago, the old keystrokes still work, so we are not forced to use a mouse, providing you know what they are.

The best way to work out what might be useful to YOU is to press F1 for Help, then search for "Keyboard Shortcuts".

There is quite a list, organised by subject. Browse down and get the feel for what is there. Once your brain knows it's possible, you can always press F1 when you need things and remind yourself then.

Some of the functionality is repeated elsewhere, for example You can use Shift-F12 to save the current document, but it's more useful to remember Ctrl-S, which works in a huge number of programs.
Looking at ALSTON in south Ribble area, ALSTEAD and DONBAVAND/DUNBABIN etc. everywhere, HOWCROFT and MARSH in Bolton and Westhoughton, PICKERING in the Whitehaven area.
