Hi Everyone,
I posted a photo last week of my father and my aunt on the running board of an old car.

I've had a post from John -76 asking if I had anymore photos, I believe this could be a photo of the same car.

Could the photo be enhanced, so we could compare them

It sure looks like the same vehicle.  I will work on it after awhile, right now our son needs some help on his home electrical system.  Great  Sunday job.

Someone else might make some comments about it also.

Don't know about the car, but think the 'pothole' is shadow from the trees.   Hope it is anyhow!

I'm very certain it's the same car Marion, as the one in the picture with your dad.  As far as I can see, after zooming in and comparing side-by-side, they look identical.  The only difference that I see is that  the top is up in this one.  Not sure of the make, but the year is about '28 or'29 since all manufacturers that I can find ceased using wood spoke wheels in 1929. The only possible difference is that this one does not have the same hood ornament.  The low resolution precludes making that determination.

I love cars from that era, they have a character that's long gone.

Hi,  Can help with dating and identification of car. First indication as to the origin of the car is the headlamps, drum type, and wheels, wooden spokes, normally indicating America. Specific indicator is the enclosed skirt below the radiator which indicates Overland. No exterior door handles and high headlamp bar indicates a cca 1924 Overland Model 91 Touring.

The Overland Automobile "runabout" was introduced, in 1903. In 1905 Overland Automobile Company relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1908, Overland Motors was purchased by John Willys. In 1912, it was renamed Willys-Overland. Overland continued to be produced until 1926 when the model was succeeded by the Willys Whippet. Willys subsequently went on to make the JEEP.

Both cars look to be a 1920s Buick touring car, but it seems the colorized one has a few changes.

There is no front scoop bumper visible, which looks to be visible past the front tires in the other photo.

The headlights are different (the black and white photo seems to have a slightly rounded back whereas the colorized ones look like a flat back and the motometer has been added.

However, since these are options purchasable separately at any later time, the changes could explained away by a simple front end collision.

Just my two cents.
