Hi, sorry yes that is their marriage certificate.  Samuel was born about 1857 and Annie about 1858?  I think Annie's parents are George Sloane and Nancy Leeper, not sure about Nancy.  Cant find any details of Samuel's birth

Thank you

So Samuel's father was Thomas and the marriage was Presbyterian.
They won't have birth Certs as born before 1864, so you need baptisim. I'm not well up on Presbyterian records but I'm sure someone who is will be along soon.

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.

Marriages usually take place in the bride's church so the Millars may, or may not, have been Presbyterian. Also, Presbyterians are free to choose their own congregation (and there are different forms of Presbyterianism so lots of churches) so they may not have attended the nearest Presbyterian church.

The marriage took place in Brigh Presbyterian Church but Samuel's residence at the time of the marriage is Cookstown (he may have been born elsewhere). The certificate says that Samuel's father was Thomas Millar, also a car driver.

How did you skip from Samuel back to his grandparents Thomas & Rose Ann Millar?

Hi, thank you for you help.  When my Great Uncle passed away we found a piece of paper with birth and death dates for Thomas and Rose.  Thomas was also a car driver (Thomas' father born approx 1797); still no luck on Samuels mothers name though

So, what are the dates you have for Thomas and Rose? Was there no indication of dates for Samuel's parents?
