I think the combination of surname spellings is making it difficult

I do wonder if Charles is with another family but I haven't been able to find him as yet

Re the 1847 baptism of Charles Fredk with middle name "Veith" which seems to be an extremely rare name in the UK, possibly of German/Austrian origin.

The only Veith household in Hull in 1841 was that of foreign-born Ferdinand Veith and a 4 yr old son? John Veith.  Ferdinand had a servant, Mary Steel.

His full name was Ferdinand Christian Veith, a merchant and commission agent; newspapers show that he was made bankrupt on 25 September 1847.  He had absconded to New York by March 1848.

Possibly entirely irrelevant, but just noting for now.

It's not been altered on the face of the document - it's just that an erroneous modern transcription on Ancestry has been corrected from Fritscher to Frobisher.

I think you are mistaken as to the Oxtoby/Taylor marriage date - I agree that on the page itself the date could be read as 1851 or 1857, but if you scroll through to entries in a different hand it is clearly 1851 (followed in due course by 1852!).  This is consistent with the GRO registration in Sep qtr 1851 Hull.
