all, thank you v much for your help with these. I have spent a couple of hours on the Lincs of the past site trying to get the same results as your links but to no avail.  :'( I have watched the tutorial but still can not find the images. Oh dear! I feel useless.

However I now know Harriet was illegitimate and that is a great find. also thanks for the info on Annes' side - i had been concentrating on William, which i won't do now there is no blood connection going back.

really appreciate the lessons and the help - many many thanks all.

I`ve had all sorts of difficulties with Lincsto thepast.

I emailed them and they kindly replied with the method; I still found it difficult but I think this may be more due to the actual page.

Now i do it the long way. I click on advanced searc and enter the placename in the "exact phrase box " and baptism, marriage or burial in the " at least one of the words "  and then just go through eveything !! It`s a bit time consuming, but it works for me !!

Cnthree3 - if you have a subscription to Findmypast, or maybe your local library has and you can use the website there, then they have Lincolnshire records which are much easier to find than Lincstothepast.  You can search separately for Lincolnshire baptisms, marriages, burials etc.   You can also search for free on Familysearch.org.  You will have to register but there's no fee and you can tick a box to keep you logged in for 2 weeks.  Alternately, you can just log in each time you go to their site.

David - thank you!!! this is great because it shows the middle name of Benjamin - I think this is his mothers maiden name - so a really great piece of evidence to link them all together.
