North Dublin Workhouse 1900's
« on: Friday 22 February 19 13:01 GMT (UK) »
i have managed to trace relatives in North Dublin Workhouse from March 1900 to June 1901 I was looking to know where i could go to find out more about life in the work house and some of the entries.

it appears from what i've uncovered people might only have been in for a night or two but on a re-occuring pattern.

I then noticed the following entry on both Thomas and Edward Lotus records found on (findmypast.ie)
"to Margaret Roberts by Order 24th May 1901 Mr Fagan. R.C" So Margaret Roberts was the person the were going to stay with. they stayed 2wks and then returned to the workhouse was this type of thing normal? Who would Mr fagan have been.

in a later entry 6th June 1901 the boys were sent to an industrial school - where would this have been and why? are there records on industrial schools?

Thanks
Draperstown: Trowlan, Quinn, Convery, Kelly, McKenna, Griffin, Sergeant, Hamilton, Taylor.
Monaghan: Duffy, McArdle
Sligo: Egan.
Mayo: Loftus.
Dungannon: Reilly, Milligan, Ryan, Harte.
