manchester local photo collection
« on: Saturday 23 February 19 09:50 GMT (UK) »
Good morning everyone.

1st I would like to apologise if i'm putting this post on the wrong part of the group.
2nd  I would like to ask if there is anyone who can point me in the wright direction for a link as I have tried manchester local collection. There are so many places I don't know where to start.

What I'm trying to find is a area and houses where my great gran lived  and also where my gran lived before she was married.  I understand there might not be any numbers on doors. How ever I was kindly sent a photo of an area where my gran lived.  On the photo  it has 2 numbers on the front of the buildings. One was 171 upperbrook street cholton on Medlock Manchester and number 98.
The address I'm looking for is 192 upper brook Street cholton on Medlock Manchester. That is where my gran lived before she married my grandad.

The next one I'm looking for is 59.Rusholme road cholton on Medlock Manchester.
That is where my great gran lived before and after she had my grandad.
Apparently she moved to sale in wythenshawe  some years later after my grandparents got married. I'm not sure what year.

If there's anything anyone can help me with I really would appreciate it .I just keep going round in circles.

Thank all for your time and help.

Dorothy

Hello.
I'm sorry for the delay in replying back to everyone who helps me with my searching.
I would like to say a big thank you to you all.

Without this site and all my helpers I wouldn't know the thing's I do now.

Since my mum passed away 5years ago this coming March. Everyone has been a great help. There's so many things I have found out about my mums family. Since she's been gone. I only wished she was here now so I can share everything with her. My mum asked me a few months before she passed away why not do her family background.  She began to help me. But sadly she passed away not knowing that her gran Frances Jones and her father Alfred Evan Jones wasn't born in where she thought.
I can only imagine what she would have said now if she knew.
Maybe her dad Alfred  was in Wales  without his mum for some reason.
Something I would never know. Where he was from when he was born until he joined his mum in his teens. My great gran Frances Jones was in rusholme road  as a house keeper.
There's always going to be a small gap for me.
My next task is to find out where my gran Eveline was born and her real birth name.
This is not just for myself.
It's for my mum in memory of her and something she would have liked me to carry on with.

Thank you all again for helping me with everything.

Kind regards Dorothy
