Looking for Richard Francis
« on: Saturday 23 February 19 19:03 GMT (UK) »
I am researching the name of Francis in St Margaret's or Michaelchurch Escley, Herefordshire.
I have gone back to Richard Francis bp 1816 St Margarets, & Thomas his brother bp 1816. Parents were Robert Francis who married Sarah Lloyd 23 SEP 1796 St Nicholas, Hereford. I know that Richard married Elizabeth Smith. Thomas I believe married Mary Andrews 1847.
I am stuck in locating anymore children, plus the marriage of Robert Francis to Sarah Lloyd & Robert's parents.
Would appreciate any help.
Regards Trish

For starters you might find this site useful, the original images are not indexed, some are hard to read.

Hi
Not got at lot you haven't found.

1818 poll book Hereford
Robert Francis 3 St Margaret's Michaelchurch occupied by himself.

This leads to burials at Eskley Michaelchurch

Sarah 1.3.1837 born 1754 age 83 years
Francis born 1769 buried Eskley 16 Nov 1836

A possible baptism for Robert Francis at Ewayas Harold 22.7.1772 so Robert and Elizabeth Francis.

(I can't see the originals so no extra info than the transcripts)

A PCC Will For Francis 1837
oldest son Robert gets the little house in the parish of St Margarets subject to a mortgage and after his death to my daughters children.
Son William another leasehold  house 'Perky'?in the parish of St Margarets subject to mortgage
to Daughter Elizabeth Lewis-the house called Hopkins in the parish of St Margaret
to Son Edward gets the house called Willows?
to son Richard freehold place known as Britons Camp and the Birches in the parish of St M.subject to mortgage
to son Thomas that old shop in the parish of Eskley
The children to pay maintenance to their mother Sarah.
Executors Richard and Thomas.

Elizabeth Francis married a Phillip Lewis 5.7.1827 Hereford St Martin

No sign of children's baptisms

Will see what else I can spot

Hello again
Looks like his father Robert Francis Will 1803 at the juristiction of Breacon -National Library of Wales.
It's a lot easier to read.
To eldest son Robert  freehold message situated in Upper Upper Miscode parish of st Margarets called the Little House.(see 1837 Will)
Penacoed leasehold tenement to son William for his lifetime
to son John meadow called Charless Meadow for life

And then everything seems to go to eldest son Robert Francis.

Robert senior buried Ewyas-Harold 7.7.1803
Marriage to Susan Map at Michaelchurch 17.8.1774 (  she could be second wife. Susannah 1742 - burial 2.3.1826

Sorry but the Library is about to close and they are shooing me away
