World War One Driver
« on: Sunday 24 February 19 16:46 GMT (UK) »
I'm hopefully going to attach a photo I came across yesterday.
My Great Grandpa was a Driver in WW1. Nobody I know has seen a photo of him.
My Grandpa was a Regimental Sergeant Major in WW2.
The problem is that this photo is the image of my Grandpa but could it be his Father (the Driver). Thanking you all in anticipation x

This looks WW2 & an L/Cpl. or equivalent.
You don't say who he was with. The flaming grenade collar dogs were used by a number of Regiments.
Does the photo show a cap badge?

I am pretty sure that double breasted greatcoat design is later than WW1.

He doesn’t have a hat on and had to cut down photo to allow it to be sent.
I think both were with the Royal Artillary.
I really thought I’d found the first photo of the Great Grandfather!  But youse don’t think this is WW1 time?

The tunic is wrong for WW1 & as ShaunJ has said the double-breasted greatcoat is also post WW1.

Thanks for your time.  It is my Grandpa’s double right enough but I was really hoping it was his Father.
