Hello
My ancestors Edward FUNNELL (1796-1855) and Elizabeth NEWNHAM (d. 1841 or 1851) were married in Battle (the place, not while fighting) in 1820. According to one tree on Ancestry, this took place on 14 October of that year (which, I suppose, is fitting), but the tree owner can't remember the source of that information.
I can't seem to find their marriage date either (doesn't seem to be on Familysearch, SFHG don't appear to have indexed a lot of marriages). Is there any other repository of information I might have overlooked? (Online, as I'm not able to visit Sussex).
Some people seem to think that Elizabeth was baptised in Fletching on 20 March 1796. Certainly, according to SFHG an Elizabeth Newnham was, but I've no idea how to prove or disprove she's "my" Elizabeth...
Thanks
Martin
