I presume you have Georges possible Mother in 1881 Census just above where George Smith is a nurse child to Emily Berry?

Thanks for all that Trish, some bits I have and some I don't.  I have ordered a birth cert for George but on GRO does not give a mother's maiden name so will see what it produces.  Sue
