1722 Marriage Bond, Ormskirk Lancashire - in Latin COMPLETED
« on: Wednesday 27 February 19 08:58 GMT (UK) »
I need help to transcribe & translate this marriage Bond. Can anyone help me please?

My initial guess is, with guesses;

Noverint Universi per praesentes, Nos Edwardium
SEPHTON de Scarisbrig Fabrum Signarium et
Henricum SEPHTON de Down Holland ....
.... et firmiton obligari Rev’do in Christ .... et
domino Francisce permissiorie divina Cestrie..
Episcope.

Edward SEPHTON was a House Carpenter of Scarisbrick. As yet, I don't know his relationship to Henry of Downholland.
Apparently Francisce was the "Lord Bishop of Chester"

Unfortunately, relationships aren’t normally stated in bonds – only occupations (if you’re lucky). In this case Henry's occupation is partly obscured, and agricolam is a best guess.

Noverint Universi per praesentes, Nos Edvardum
Sephton de Scarisbrig Fabrum Lignarium et
Henricum Sephton de Down Holland a(gri?)colam
teneri et firmiter obligari Rev(eren)do in Christo Patri et
domino Francisco permissione divina Cestriensi
Episcopo ...

Let all men know by these presents that we, Edward Sephton of Scarisbrick, carpenter, and Henry Sephton of Downholland, farmer(?), are held and firmly bound to the Reverend in Christ, Father and Lord, Francis, by divine permission Bishop of Chester ...
