Deceased Mariners Wages! James Jackson Died 1835. Dreadnought Hospital Ship
« on: Thursday 28 February 19 14:53 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
Poor James Jackson died on the hospital ship at Greenwich. He was buried at St Alfage but does anyone know where his wages would have gone. He was not in the Royal Navy, he was a Merchant Mariner (Mate).

He was born at Lancaster and the last vessel he was aboard (apart from Dreadnought) was Royal William.

Many thanks for your help.
James Jackson 1784 - 1838. Married Isabella Parke Lived at Glasson Dock/ Thurnham.
Mariner sons : Robert, James, Michael & William.
Other sons: Thomas, John & Joseph.
Daughters: Grace, Elizabeth & Mary.
