St John´s Road Workhouse Register, 1907
« on: Friday 01 March 19 00:02 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I have an ancestor who was in St John´s Road Workhouse Register, admission date 27 july 1907.
his name is francis twyford DOB jan 1840 and DOD 2 aug 1907

He is listed as a widow and was a housekeeper

I am wondering if there are workhouse records that might tell me more about what circumstances led to his admission and if he died there or got an very early release lol

I have got a copy from ancestry about admission but nothing else, does anyone know where I might be able to find any other information
Thanks!

Background information here ...

Scroll to Records at the foot to see what survives. Many of the surviving records for this poor law union at this date are on Ancestry, but apart from the admissions/discharges they are not indexed.

If you go to Ancestry's database London, England, Poor Law and Board of Guardian Records, 1738-1930, and then select the borough, parish and record type from the Browse panel on the right, you can browse through from page to page.

He was a horsekeeper

That was not his only admission.  If you have an Ancestry subscription then this link should work
