I don't find it strange at all. The SSDI was not fully up and running until 1962/62 ish so the fact she isn't listed does not mean anything.  The family must have made some sort of claim for death or
survivor benefits.  Trouble is the surname is so common it is difficult to try and pick up obituaries but you know the area they lived in and date of Henry's death from Henry's SSDI entry - so perhaps an email letter to the nearest local library  :-\
