Keziah Cotton (nee Walker?)

Hi

Hope someone can help please. I’ve seen Keziah on the 1851 census and it’s the right family 100%, the query I have is that the census itself has the name Cotton but on the typed version she’s down as Hehia Morr and Morr is the surname for the family. Can someone have a look and tell me if they know what it’s about please?

However, Ancestry has the transcription you refer to - Daniel and Hehia Morr.

The written copy shows Daniel Cotton and Kezia and children are dittoed for the surname.

Presumably you are referring to wife of Daniel

Census lists Daniel as Daniel Cotton, the rest of the household just have their first names and are 'do' (ditto).  The previous household on the page before is Moor/Morr - William, Mary & Charles William

Ok thank you. It confused me a bit because on ancestry the name Hehia Morr was there and then [Keziah Cotton] was listed like that in brackets.
