The 1861 is the census with the most missing bits, according to the National Archives.
I recently emailed them to add another problem area to their list. Frizington in Cumberland has pages which are damaged, and gaps in the numbering.
Guess where my ggg uncle and his family were!
They confirmed that the sheets were lost long ago.
