Thanks for the possibles. They are all after the birth of his first child but we know that's not unheard of. Elizabeth is the only name I have so perhaps it was to Mary Elizabeth in 1879 but thats after the first two children.....

Di you assume they were marriages?  I think those were births which Josey posted in reply #3.  At least one looks a good match for a baptism someone found.
