Sorry, - I've read that wrong.  It is Eliza/Elizabeth and her son Cuthbert Johnson (otherwise Blackett) that took possession/tenants of the property.

Cuthbert married Alice Parmeley in 1726; and Thomas Parmeley was her grandfather.  So they must have live in the property.

To clarify ...

Thomas Parmerley was admitted to the property on 17 April 1719, after the death of his father William Parmerley, the previous tenant.

Thomas then surrendered the property on 18 April 1719, and Eliza/Elizabeth Blackett and Cuthbert Johnson were admitted tenants the same day, on the same terms.

I don’t think you can assume that the marriage (7 years later) was necessarily connected to this transaction, nor that any of these people were living in the property. They may have been, but it doesn’t actually state ‘in the occupation of ...’, and the property may have been sub-let to a third party, not identified here.

Nice of the grandfather.

In a strange twist; I notice a marriage of Elizabeth Blackett to a John Brown in 1719, Auckland district of Hamsterley.    Then a son from this marriage in 1727 (named John).  Would love to know if this is our same Elizabeth.

Maybe he was looking after the welfare of his grandson and gave the property up for this reason.
(That is of course, that, this marriage is the same Elizabeth Blackett.)
