Halmote Court Books 1719
« on: Sunday 03 March 19 23:29 GMT (UK) »
I have a document from the above court records dated 18th April 1719 in relation to a property or lease or perhaps a life interest in a house.  It is written in latin and I can't read it, apart from the the two names that appear.   Can anyone help with deciphering the text so that I can see what the transaction is all about?
I could scan the document to anyone who could help with this.
Many thanks
Gail

The best thing would be to make a clip image of the first 8 to 10 lines and post it here.

Then we can take a look and begin a translation.

Include any marginal headings or notes which usually appear in Court Books.

Very good.  I am wondering how to post it.  It can obviously be done - just need to ask someone.
Thanks so much.

Hi Westee,

Once you have your image you are looking for the "attach button" that appears below the white box that you type in.

Regards

Sarah

Having trouble finding the "attach button".
I don't mind sharing my email and can scan it to you.

I wrote to the Durham University and they sent it to me via email (with payment of a £10 fee beforehand).
Don't know if it is on Family Search but I doubt it.

Looks like it would have worked but came back saying "File is too big. Max size is 900".  So what I will do is send it in two pieces.  But it really isn't that big at all.  But I will give it another try,
