With all these leads, I'll hopefully get somewhere.
The story goes a bit like this:
Sarah Ann was a scullery maid who used to smoke a pipe (nicknamed Biddy) who ran away with Robert Wildey.
He was apparently of a different class to her and they were disowned. I have never been able to find their marriage certificate.
There are stories that they were married at Gretna Green?
Not sure, when we went there, there were no search facilities as they were all in Scotland.
