PS, As far as I know this pair didn't have any children together. I did hear he had a daughter when he was in the Ukraine.

How very unusual......

There seem to be 2 couples with the same names, one in Toronto and the other in Hamilton.

1968 voters list, Toronto......has Paul Panasuk, a railroader, and Mary. Address 75 Brunswick Av.

1968 voters list, Hamilton......has Paul Panasuk, retired, and Mary. Address 196 Rosewood Road.

I'm wondering if there are two pairs of Paul and Mary Panasuk?
There is a Paul and Mary Panasuk, in 1965 in Hamilton at 196 Rosewood Ave.  Paul is retired, and living at the same address there is also a widowed Kathryn Strongman.
Does that street name ring a bell?

I've been trawling passenger lists, and there was a lot of Panasiuk folks coming from that area to Canada via Southampton, UK in that time frame.  Most are Polish, but there is one that stands out a bit, (especially with you mentioning a daughter) which might be worth keeping on the back burner.

Ship: Empress of Scotland, Southampton  07 Jul 1928 to Quebec

Pavel Panasiuk,  age 24, married,
Country and place of birth: Ukraine, Vil. Logvin
Nationality: Russian
Race of people: Ukranian
What language: Ukr. Russian
What trade did you follow in your own country: farming
What trade do you intend to follow in Canada: farming (pretty much the standard reply for all of them on board)
Destination (name relative/employer, etc): c/o Mr. C. A. Van Secy, Land Dept. C.P.R. Winnipeg.  (same as many on board)

Give name, relationship and address of your nearest relative in the country from which you came. If a wife or children are to follow you later to Canada, give names and ages:
wife Anna age 27, children Ekaterina 9 mos
res. at Vil. Logvin, distr. Skvira, Gov. Kiev, Ukraine

Passport number, place and date of issue:
144080 Kiev  23.5.28

Action taken and civil examiner:
Landed immigrant

If it IS him, I'm guessing Anna didn't join him?  I've been able to rule some out, and most of them have their first name as "Pawel".  I haven't been able to tell if Pawel= Polish and Pavel = Ukranian; it seems to be a mixed bag. I did match a Panasiuk to a Panasuk in BC, so that i must be a variable, depending on who was taking the information?

I think the daughter's name is just Katerina, and the typist hit the K key twice.  Depending how on much you zoom, the first letter varies between looking like a K or an E. (but I have horrible eyesight, so....:

Hope this link takes you to the right page:

Looks like Paul ran "Paul's Fish and Chips"!
I haven't checked the other years: https://archive.org/details/@hamilton_public_library_-_local_history_amp_archives

Edit: I couldn't resist.... here are a few other years, and it looks like prior to being with Mary, he was spelling his surname as Panasiuk

My eyes are done for the day, but if you check the ones I didn't link, you might be able to figure out when Mary entered the picture, and hopefully some clue as to who Robert is.

They both died in Hamilton and buried in Hamilton at Whitechapple cemetery there. Mary was born in Hamilton. However when I checked there, I was told neither one is actually buried there.

According to OCFA, Mary is there.  Maybe his urn was buried with her?

There is a Miss Mary Rayment, teacher, Mountain Sanitorium, Wentworth in the 1940 voters list.

Looking at the directory entries posted by bbart.....

Paul seems to be rooming alone in 1941 and Mary is with him in the 1944 entry so they appear to have married between these years. Unfortunately, I believe marriages in this time frame are protected by privacy laws.
