I'm trying to piece together the family of Thomas DOYLE and Rose RODGERS/ROGERS of Rosduff, Colmcille / Columbkille. They *may* have been married in 1826 and I've found baptism records for a few of their children, but I know there are more. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

The ones I've found already are:

Bartholemew DOYLE
08 Jan 1846

Catherine DOYLE
06 May 1848

John DOYLE
02 Jun 1851

Thomas DOYLE
01 Jan 1853

Michael DOYLE
27 Feb 1856

The timeframe doesn't quite work, I admit, but I'm still gathering disparate facts. The 1826 marriage year comes from a 1910 "Search in Census" document - and it *might* be 1836, after all - but the same document says that their son William Doyle was aged 9 in 1841. But maybe they meant 1851! I just don't know.

My search began, in fact, with the registers in the link you sent and I'm hoping to find more information from before that date range, if possible....?

Many thanks!

Do registers exist for years you need?

Census Search Form
http://censussearchforms.nationalarchives.ie/reels/c19/007246693/007246693_00913.pdf

It is rather confusing and difficult to read.

I was a bit surprised they had a marriage year but looking at some of the surviving returns from 1841 and 1851 they ask what year married.
I think it says wife and son not found in 1841 but William found in 1851 aged 9
as you say it's hard to tell if the marriage was 1826 or 1836

It appears to say:

"Particulars found, a Thos. Doyle married in 1826. no trace of wife or son William Sheet 12, 1851. Son William aged 9 Years in 1841, Sheet 31."

No worries!

The parish records of 1833-1844 do seem to exist on microfilm (via the LDS) and transcripts (via rootsireland) - no online scans of the records themselves - yet?. I would spring for a dip into rootsireland, but it's sort of buying a pig in a poke and I'd rather look at scans of the pages.
