The FERMO family in Bucharest, Rumania
« on: Tuesday 05 March 19 16:45 GMT (UK) »
Hi, Everyone,
I was wondering whether anyone could direct me to where to search for records that might identify members of the FERMO family, who I believe were Jewish.
A Jacques FERMO, born in Bucharest in 1876, married the younger sister of my gt-grandma, Agnes Florence KERSHAW in 1902 in London.  On the marriage certificate Jacques gives his father's name as Abraham.  Jacques eventually perished in 1942 in Auschwitz.
I realise that the FERMO family may have migrated from elsewhere, like so many persecuted people of their religion, but I would be grateful to learn where I might look for at least this 1876 birth record in Bucharest, or indeed records of other rites of passage there or elsewhere in Europe for the FERMO family.
Many thanks,
Keith
