Adela Romance Cattier born 1878

I made a discovery yesterday, while researching my Salmon family (Birmingham) connection, of Thomas Breakspeare Salmon (1839) having married Adela Cattier (1878) in 1901 (second marriage for him) and their daughter Rosalie Clare marrying Stepney Jacoby in 1937.  My question is, how can I find out more about this second family and about the likely origin and history of the surnames Cattier and Jacoby ?    I will be sending for both marriage certificates but one always wants much more than just names and dates !    I suppose what I would really love is to be in contact with their descendants with histories and tales to tell !

Also could I be reminded of how to Complete a posting  please.

Thank you for these two replies.  But how do I know these entries relate to Adela Cattier who married Thomas Salmon ?   I found him in 1911 and couldn't be sure it was 'him' but census sheet said married 10 years, so looked for their marriage on BMD which I found in 1901, with their children.

heywood  -  so the marriage in 1867 you think is for her parents ?  How do you know that is her father without seeing the marriage certificate for Adela and Thomas in 1901 ?
Pauline J    I will have to study your posting later today and find entries - I hadn't looked on Family Search  -  but again, how do you know it is for the correct person / family ?   I have birth for Adela as 9/12/878 though will need to re-assess that in the light of what you have posted.

No I don’t think anything -just posting for you to peruse. You wanted to find out more about the families but you are sending for the marriage certificate which seems to be the best action.
It seems more complicated than that.

Pauline has given you 1881 census plus the birth of Adele Romance Sundell Cattier

1881 shows a boarder Richard Sundill. He is a widower aged 55yrs

1891, as posted, shows Richard Canepe as head of the same family

But - I have just received a reply from a contact I made with the grandson of Adela and Thomas !
Sounds as if he did not know anything about the first family of Thomas !   I am hopeful he can help confirm the information folks have provided me with.

I can’t see Cyril’s birth 1911 nor Rosaline in 1902
