Croix de Guerre
« on: Friday 08 March 19 00:09 GMT (UK) »
Please can any one help with information on a person called Frances Treillian who was awarded the Croix de Guerre in WW1.
A  friend has the medal in with treasures from his Great Aunt Winifred Holding (Australian ) who was a WW1 VAD.
She also was awarded a medal "Reconnaissance Francaise", presented by Monsieur Rene Turck the Consul for France 31 March 1921, I presume in Australia.
We are finding it difficult to find information about them and why the were awarded them.
Fingers crossed someone can help..

M. Turck presented the Reconnaissance Francaise to Winifred Holding for
distinguished service during the bombardment of Paris. She had served as a voluntary nurse.
