I was told that if women did not re marry out there they would end up in the poor house, so was quite common.

Sorry, going back to what you asked earlier about the 1881 census, I was looking for other lines &  spotted it, that is what got me thinking I may have gone down the wrong road.

Apologies - I've just seen that you mention the Hounslow remarriage in your opening post - if it was there from the start I didn't see it.

So at least we now know that he was already in the Army when he married in 1864.

Once again thank you so much for all your help :) Because of the India bits you sent I managed to find even more of her children to Edward :)
Going back to my original post all is not lost on the work I had done further up, It works out whatever Elizabeth is his mum, both their fathers (William & Sam) are brothers  :)
As I cant send them on the Jeremy Kyle show for DNA  ;D You great people are my  saviours.
The bit that is getting me is I cant find the Birth of William Henry Perrin" Bapt 16 Jul 1843 Quainton, Aylesbury?
I managed to trace Elizabeth's son Thomas (bapt) 30 Sep 1849 & it turns out like his brother William he joined the Royal Artillery.
What I would like a bit of help with, if possible I have some rough transcripts of Marriages in Saint Mary Aylesbury. Would anyone have access to look at these?
Elizabeth Perrin = James Green 2 Jan 1842
""                     = Henry Turner 21 Aug 1862
"" ""                  = John Hicks 20 Nov 1836
This might help eliminate one of them
