Lookup please Sheila Redmond
« on: Saturday 09 March 19 12:30 GMT (UK) »
Hello, I am hoping someone might be able to help me please?
I am trying to help a friend find a unknown Aunt
This is what she knows...
Her name was Sheila Redmond
She was born in about 1918-1920 probably in Liverpool or maybe Carlow Ireland
They lived in Liverpool from Carlow
Family conversations think she went to Australia
I have found. Sheila Redmond on the Outwood Passenger Lists Uk 1890-1960 but I do not have a subscription to look further.
No one anymore about her so she could have married
Again there is a memorial stone for a Sheila Redmond Perkins looks like born October 28 1917? and died 23 June 20??
Husband ......olm Donald Perkins ...
We cant make out the words very clearly and again I cant get into it.
Hoping someone might be able to find out something on her please?
Her parents names could be Kathleen/Catherine and maybe William - we are working on this when we find her birth
She alsomhadmthree siblings
Stanley born about 1922 Carlow, William and Mary, we believe the latter two were born in Liverpool
Look forward to finding out more for my friend
Thank you

Whereabouts is the memorial stone you found?

Added: Google tells me his name was Malcolm and he and died in Massachusetts USA in 1995 aged 80
Also mentions Shiela Redmond Perkins, spouse 1917 - 2000.

If your Shiela went to Australia this won't be her, unless she moved to the USA at some stage.  :-\

Hi Cupoflife and Ruskie
Thank you for looking them up.
I found the headstone on Ancestry - but thanks to you both we now know its not her
I will look up the Corporal information and show my friend, if it mentions where she was born or her parents we know it will be her.
Were you able to get into the Immigration page on Ancestry to see where Sheila Redmond left from and for please?
When I know more I will post it
Thank you so much for your help
Regards
Cranstone

Hi I had a look on Ancestry and the Sheila Redmond who departed 1.8.1928 from Southampton on the "Olympic" was bound for New York. She was aged 10 yrs and was travelling with parents and siblings.

Hi Cass
Many thanks for looking.  Hmm,  the family think she went to Australia, I will have to search for her more globally and see if any other Sheila Redmonds pop up.
Thanks again
Kind regards
