« on: Saturday 09 March 19 13:53 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for information and possibly an image of a
Thomas Samauel Carlisle Joiner
B 1891
D 1918

I have all the info on Ancestry and wondered if anybody had anything different?

Researching for a long lost relative.

Presumably you have the CWGC detail and a link to the war diary for the period (at the National Archives)?

Local newspapers are your best bet for an image.

Nice to see you on here as well Max,
Yes I have BNA but can only find him on the casualty list.
Donít think the Italy War Diaries are available yet on Ancestry and FindMyPast but I may be mistaken?
Seen a lot of people on here looking for his dads history etc so thought I would give it a try
Thanks for the reply

Yes, diary only available from Kew https://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/2935231/joiner,-thomas-samuel-carlisle/

Presumably you have picked up from the Register of Soldiers Effects that he died from pneumonia in 79 General Hospital in Taranto and not in Salonika as Soldiers Died in the Great War has it ?  He would have been evacuated from Salonika to the hospital.  There are two Effects entries for him.  The other is under Thomas Samuel Carlisle and gives his gratuity from which you can calculate when he joined up.

Max yes got the two effects thanks and that it was phemonia.
Thanks for letting me know the diaries are at Kew.
Got all from Ancestry, CWGC, BNA and just found a piece from Solihull saying he was on his way home after three years when he got ill.
Just looking for the Solihull Parish magazine from Oct 1918 so 🤞

Thanks again
